WorkSource is a statewide partnership of state, local and nonprofit agencies that provides an array of employment and training services to job seekers and employers in Washington.
TLG has been working closely with WorkSource since 1998.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy. WIOA brings together, in strategic coordination, the core programs of Federal investment in skill development:
- Employment and training services for adults, dislocated workers, and youth and Wagner-Peyser employment services administered by the Department of Labor (DOL) through formula grants to states.
- Adult education and literacy programs and Vocational Rehabilitation state grant programs that assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining employment administered by the Department of Education (DoED).
Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA)
The TAA Program seeks to provide adversely affected workers with opportunities to obtain the skills, credentials, resources, and support necessary to (re)build skills for future jobs. Any member of a worker group certified by the Department may be eligible to receive the following benefits and services at a local American Job Center: training, employment and case management services, job search allowances, relocation allowances, and income support in the form of Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA). Reemployment TAA (RTAA) and Alternative TAA (ATAA), which provide wage supplements for reemployed older workers whose reemployment resulted in lower wages than those earned in their trade-affected employment, may also be available.
Some of our students self-fund their training as an investment in themselves. If you are interested in financing your tuition please give us a call as we have worked with several funding agencies over the years in addition to banks and credit unions.
